Role Overview

We are looking for a Safety Consultant based in New York or Washington, D.C. to join our Learning & Management Practice (LAMP) team. This consultant will act as the principal liaison for assigned clients to identify safety issues, establish preparedness objectives, and develop programs that foster secure and empowered environments. The role involves educating, supporting, and equipping clients regarding safety matters while collaborating closely with both leadership and peers to deliver valuable content and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships by partnering with leadership to assess safety concerns and set goals for safe, prepared communities.
• Serve as the main contact for contracted school safety clients and facilitate individual thought partnership discussions.
• Define overarching contract goals and devise engagement schedules with clear priorities.
• Coordinate with Health Services and Event Safety Divisions to train and assist EMTs and Health Coordinators in advanced disaster response and crisis support.
• Manage institutional knowledge and shared resources for clients, anticipate client needs proactively, and handle both in-scope and out-of-scope requests.
• Conduct virtual and on-site risk assessments of campuses, report findings comprehensively, and collaborate to operationalize remedial plans.
• Monitor and track client engagement to ensure efficient allocation of consultant hours within contractual limits.
• Oversee content creation workflows, including strategy development for projects involving external contractors and partners.
• Support outreach efforts such as webinars, newsletters, association collaborations, and conference presentations.
• Manage and improve marketing materials, websites, client management, project management, and time-tracking tools used by the division.
• Respond to emergencies on a 24/7 on-call basis, acting as Incident Commander for regional incidents as designated.
• Collaborate with other divisions and complete tasks as assigned to contribute to overall organizational success.

Qualifications

• Residence in New York or Washington, D.C. is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working within healthcare or educational institutions.
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence in public speaking and training delivery.
• Detail-oriented with strong administrative capabilities.
• Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
• Willingness to travel approximately 70% of the time (about 2-3 days weekly).
