Canada Post is seeking a reliable and well-organized Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier for the Canwood, Saskatchewan route. This permanent full-time position involves delivering mail and related products across local communities while working independently and handling driving duties in varied weather and traffic conditions.

Key duties
- Sort, collect, and deliver mail items accurately, safely, and on time.
- Arrange a qualified substitute or helper when vacation coverage, absences, or additional hours are needed.
- Learn and keep up to date on local routes, roads, customers, and delivery points.
- Keep mail secure at all times while in possession of it.
- Handle CPC products and services such as Change of Address notices, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill (IDB), and similar tasks.
- Wear visible Canada Post identification during pickup and delivery activities.
- Lift and carry parcels or items weighing up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg.
- Operate a motor vehicle and complete deliveries in all weather and traffic conditions.
Qualifications
- Must have a satisfactory driving record; a driver’s abstract is required.
- Must hold a valid permanent provincial driver’s licence, class 5 or G.
Working conditions and route details
Applicants who live within 75 km of the post office for this position are preferred. The estimated route covers 67.3 km with 59 points of call. Weekly working time is estimated at about 2 hours per day across 3 days per week, excluding time needed for variable work.
Compensation and pay details
Annual compensation is listed at $16,293.40 to $17,805.93, which includes annual wages, an annual variable allowance, and annual vehicle expense where applicable.
Minimum annual wages: $8,571.01. Maximum annual wages: $10,083.54. Annual vehicle expense: $7,334.20. Annual variable allowance: $388.19. Variable allowances may cover annualized unaddressed admail householder sets (points per call), personal contact items, and lock changes. Time needed for variables is not included in the weekly amount shown above.
Vehicle requirements
- Vehicle must have at least 50 cu ft (1415 liters) of cargo space.
- Automatic transmission is required.
- Power windows are required.
- A metal roof-top and an accessory power outlet must be available to support a Canada Post sign and flashing light.
- The passenger window sill must be between 38 inches and 45 inches from the ground, and the vehicle’s maximum interior width must be 56 inches.
- A fifth door or hatchback is preferred to make loading oversized and bulky items easier.
- The vehicle owner must provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance.
- The insurance company must be informed that the vehicle will be used for work at Canada Post.
