Role summary
Canada Post is looking for a Postmaster to serve as the community lead for the post office in Kearney, Ontario. In this permanent full-time role, you will report to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager and take ownership of day-to-day post office operations, customer service, staff supervision, and local business development for postal products and services.
What you will do
- Act as the main local contact for community members regarding Canada Post products and services.
- Market and sell postal products and services to both individual customers and businesses.
- Run the post office so retail hours and delivery commitments are met.
- Oversee postal revenue, assets, and other accountable values.
- Keep accurate records and prepare required reports.
- Lead, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Support efficient management of mail delivery routes.
What you need to bring
- High school completion, provincial equivalency, or related business administration experience.
- Proven experience in leading and directing teams.
- Background working with the public in a retail or service setting, including sales and cash handling.
- Working knowledge of rules, procedures, and methods used to process mail and deliver postal services.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting mail containers of up to 50 lb, pushing or pulling boxes, sorting mail, and standing for long periods.
