Job description

Role overview

At Soho House, the Runner is an important support position that helps keep service flowing smoothly between the kitchen and the front-of-house team. This role ensures food and drinks are delivered promptly, while service areas stay orderly, clean, and ready for guests.

You will work closely with waiting staff to help create an excellent member experience. A key part of the job is carrying orders from the kitchen or bar to tables and serving as a communication point between the back-of-house team and the floor.

Key duties

  • Transport food and beverage orders quickly and accurately from the kitchen or bar to the correct table or service area.
  • Support waitstaff and take responsibility for an assigned section.
  • Keep service stations and work areas clean, tidy, and well organised throughout the shift.
  • Build positive relationships with members to support a personalised service experience.
  • Polish cutlery and make sure items are ready before service begins.
  • Prepare table extras in advance, such as lemon wraps, condiments, and butter portions.
  • Carry out opening and closing tasks, including setting up and breaking down stations.
  • Handle service equipment carefully and store it properly after use.
  • Attend meetings with front-of-house and back-of-house teams to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and daily tastings.

What the employer is looking for

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar premium dining environment.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine service.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • A confident, polished, and professional manner.

Pay details
