Job description

About Novita

Novita supports people to grow in their careers while working in a team-focused environment that balances structure with room to develop. It is South Australia’s longest-standing provider of therapy, assistive technology, community programs, and community living services for people with disability, and continues to evolve.

The organisation offers a setting that feels established yet personal, with leaders who support autonomy and professional growth. Its broad range of services creates opportunities to build a career in the direction that suits you best.

Role overview

As Rostering Officer, you will keep rosters running smoothly across Community Programs hubs and SIL Services. Your work will help ensure the right staffing is in place to deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality community-based programs and activities. You will partner with managers and other stakeholders to match staffing plans with participant needs and program timetables.

Key duties

  • Create and update staff rosters so they align with participant support requirements, funding arrangements, and service agreements.
  • Fill gaps in coverage proactively, including planned absences, unexpected leave, sick leave, and emergency replacements.
  • Work with managers and payroll to keep rostering practice consistent and compliant.
  • Keep support workers informed about roster changes and rostering procedures.
  • Make sure scheduling follows awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
  • Review rosters for accuracy and plan ahead to reduce reliance on agency staff.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Practical experience using rostering systems and handling scheduling workflows.
  • Well-developed organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Clear communication and sound problem-solving skills, including when working under pressure.
  • The ability to understand procedures and apply rostering rules correctly.
  • Certificate III or above in Business Administration or a related area is preferred.
  • Previous experience in rostering or workforce coordination will be highly regarded.
  • A current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Check are required, along with ongoing compliance with other mandatory clearances and training.

Why join Novita

You will be part of a fast-paced, high-impact role within a collaborative and supportive team. The position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully each day while working in an environment that values teamwork.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS), plus 12% superannuation.
  • Access to salary packaging to help increase take-home pay.

Compliance and other information

If you do not already hold a current NDIS Worker Check and South Australian Working With Children Check, guidance will be provided on how to obtain them before starting.

Applicants who progress may need to complete background checks before employment is confirmed.

Novita is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from suitably qualified people. Candidates with disability and candidates who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply.

For a confidential discussion before applying, contact Rahul Singh at rahul.singh@novita.org.au. Applications close on 30 June 2026.
