Job description
Role overview
Novita is looking for a Rostering Officer to support staffing coordination across Community Programs hubs and SIL Services in Adelaide Metro. This is a permanent, full-time position within South Australia’s long-standing disability services provider, offering the chance to work in a collaborative environment where structure and growth go hand in hand.
About the organisation
Novita supports people with disabilities through therapy, assistive technology, community programs, and community living services. The organisation describes itself as large enough to offer variety and career pathways, while still maintaining a personal and supportive workplace culture focused on helping staff achieve their professional goals.
What you will do
- Create and keep accurate rosters that match participant support needs, funding requirements, and service agreements.
- Respond quickly to staffing gaps caused by planned leave, unplanned leave, sick leave, and urgent coverage needs.
- Work with managers and payroll to maintain consistency and compliance in staffing arrangements.
- Share shift updates and explain rostering rules to support workers clearly.
- Make sure schedules follow relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
- Track roster accuracy and plan ahead to reduce reliance on agency staff.
Skills and experience
The role suits someone who combines strong administration capability with practical rostering experience. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, communicating with different stakeholders, and applying workforce rules accurately.
Requirements
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience with rostering software and scheduling processes.
- Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to solve problems calmly under pressure.
- Capacity to interpret procedures and apply rostering rules correctly.
- Certificate III or above in Business Administration or a related area is preferred.
- Comparable experience in rostering or workforce coordination will be valued.
- Current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Check are required, along with ongoing compliance for other mandatory clearances and training.
- Successful candidates must also complete background checks before employment is confirmed.
Why this role may suit you
- You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting where your contribution has a direct impact every day.
- You will be part of a supportive team culture that values collaboration.
- You will receive hourly pay in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).
- 12% superannuation is included.
- Additional salary packaging benefits are available to help increase take-home pay.
