Job Overview

The Department of Justice, Home Affairs & Migration is currently seeking a Revenue Sheriff to serve the counties of Clare, Limerick, Offaly, and Tipperary. The role is based in County Tipperary, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed Sheriff will be responsible for enforcing the execution of tax liability certificates (warrants) issued by the Revenue Commissioners concerning unpaid taxes. Additionally, the Sheriff acts as a designated receiver of fines pursuant to the Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act, 2014, and will collect fines arising from court recovery orders.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of five years' experience as a solicitor or barrister practicing in the state, or as a managing clerk or principal assistant to a Sheriff. Furthermore, candidates should possess at least three years of experience specifically in the area of debt recovery. Additionally, holding a valid current Tax Clearance Certificate is mandatory.
