The position suits someone who enjoys working with people, stays calm in a busy retail setting, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and reliable store environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will support everyday retail operations by helping with merchandising, stock control, and inventory tasks. The role also involves handling point-of-sale transactions and balancing cash accurately at the end of each shift. Customer service is a major part of the job, so you’ll be expected to greet people warmly, respond to their needs, and contribute to a positive in-store experience.
Key Duties
- Provide prompt, friendly service and aim to go beyond customer expectations.
- Assist the Store Manager with routine day-to-day store operations.
- Work cooperatively with the wider team to keep things running efficiently.
- Pay close attention to safety, accuracy, and store standards.
- Be available for a 7-day roster, including weekends and overnight shifts when required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has some prior experience in retail or customer service. You should be comfortable using a POS system, handling cash carefully, and communicating clearly with customers and coworkers. Flexibility is important, as this role requires availability across all days of the week, including nights and weekends.
What’s Offered
Ampol provides training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role. You’ll also have a degree of independence in how you carry out your work, along with flexible rostering where possible. The company also offers opportunities to grow your career within one of Australia’s major retail networks.
