About the Role
This position is for a dependable and upbeat retail team member who can keep up in a busy store, provide friendly help to shoppers, and keep the sales area running smoothly. The role involves direct customer interaction, register support, floor recovery, merchandise organization, and general store support across different tasks as needed.
Availability
This job requires flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and closing shifts. Work is also expected across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is $17.60 per hour.
Key Duties
- Welcome customers, answer questions, suggest products, and provide helpful service.
- Process register transactions accurately, including refunds, exchanges, and tax exemptions.
- Handle customer concerns in a professional way while keeping the shopping experience positive.
- Support sales campaigns and promotions through effective product placement and presentation.
- Restock merchandise, return fitting room items, and keep displays tidy and aligned with store standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across the sales floor, fitting rooms, register zones, and shared areas.
- Carry out opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.
- Answer phone calls and help with donation door operations.
- Follow safety, housekeeping, and loss-prevention procedures at all times.
- Report spills, hazards, suspicious behaviour, and other operational issues quickly.
- Handle donations in line with proper procedures.
- Join team huddles, communicate clearly, and help teammates across departments when needed.
- Switch between tasks such as POS coverage, fitting room support, and floor recovery based on business needs.
- Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and productive workplace.
What You Bring

- Team-oriented behaviour and comfort stepping in where support is needed.
- Retail or thrift store experience is helpful but not mandatory.
- An interest in visual presentation and neatly arranged merchandise.
- Comfort with cash handling or POS systems is an advantage.
Physical Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and moving throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers up to 500 lbs.
- Work may involve exposure to dust, dirt, insects, garbage, and occasional rodents.
- The environment can be noisy and temperature conditions may vary.
- Regular interaction with customers and the public is part of the role.
