About the Role
We seek a dynamic Retail Director for the European Central region, encompassing DACH, Eastern Europe, and Benelux markets, to spearhead Retail Store performance across FPS and FOC channels. You will aim to ensure sustainable sales growth and profitability while maintaining an exceptional, premium shopping experience that truly represents the PUMA brand values.
This role involves strategic oversight including retail footprint development through store openings, renovations, and closures, done collaboratively with the Leasing teams. A key focus is translating corporate strategy into outstanding execution supported by a strong commercial and leadership approach.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive sales, margin, and profitability while preserving and reinforcing the PUMA brand image.
- Detect and capitalize on growth opportunities through improved productivity, quality advancement, and stringent cost management.
- Analyze customer demographics, purchasing patterns, market trends, and competitive landscape to guide business direction.
- Collaborate intensively with Merchandising, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising teams to adapt swiftly to trends and unlock potential growth.
- Champion an exceptional customer experience aligned with PUMA’s core values and service standards across all stores.
- Ensure operational excellence by meeting key performance indicators consistently and adhering strictly to operational and customer service protocols.
- Contribute actively to strategic planning processes, budgeting, and long-term expansion plans, including marketing and merchandising initiatives.
- Leverage data analytics for transparency and informed decision-making.
- Lead, motivate, and develop robust, accountable, and customer-focused teams throughout the region.
- Ensure full compliance with legal and operational standards, including occupational health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Over 15 years of leadership experience in international retail management within a multi-country context.
- Proven success in driving sales growth and enhancing profitability with strong commercial insight.
- In-depth knowledge of retail operations, managing store performance, and elevating customer experience quality.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Strong analytical ability to convert data into practical business insights.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and inspire large teams and senior retail executives.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills spanning multiple functions.
- High levels of ownership, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-evolving environment.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous.
- Passionate about sports, lifestyle, and the PUMA brand ethos.
