Operating primarily in the Midwest and Southeast from its Sarasota, FL base, it offers safe housing, outreach, prevention, and training related to sex trafficking.

Position Summary

The Residential Advocate role involves direct, compassionate work with survivors of sex trafficking residing in the organization's residential program. This part-time, non-exempt position is located in Hillsborough County, FL, focusing on emotional support, ensuring survivor stability, and assisting them in accessing essential services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to survivor needs.
• Assist survivors in obtaining legal, medical, housing, and counseling services.
• Provide safe and consistent transportation for appointments, employment, and community resources.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of services rendered in a secure database.
• Participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
• Work flexible shifts, including weekends, overnight hours, and holidays.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminology, or related behavioral sciences; relevant life or work experience may substitute formal education.
• Experience working in trauma-informed settings or with sex trafficking survivors.
• Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage survivors at their level.
• Commitment to continual learning about trauma, substance abuse, and survivor care.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and willingness to travel locally as needed.
