Role Overview

The Resident Engineer will lead the Engineering and Facilities division to ensure operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences. Responsibilities include strategy setting, engineering operations management encompassing preventive maintenance, energy stewardship, compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and oversight of capital projects and renovations. The role requires budget management, fostering sustainability initiatives, and strong collaboration across departments for smooth day-to-day and event operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct strategy, goals, and performance standards for engineering functions aligned with hotel and brand objectives.
  • Manage preventive maintenance, energy and technical services ensuring compliance with JEMS, safety, fire codes, and HACCP standards.
  • Lead capital projects and facility upgrades guaranteeing timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery per specifications.
  • Control budgets and implement cost-saving and sustainability programs focusing on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
  • Collaborate closely with Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Security teams to support operations and events smoothly.
  • Develop and mentor engineering team members through training, succession planning, and performance management while handling escalated technical issues.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Facilities Management.
  • Preferred Health and Safety certifications; leadership and project management credentials are advantageous.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience managing engineering and facilities in the luxury hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing capital projects and managing complex technical operations.
