Overview
Transpower New Zealand is seeking a Remuneration Analyst/Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term part-time position (20 hours weekly) based in Wellington. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to fair and evidence-based remuneration decisions within a vital national infrastructure organisation that supports New Zealand's energy future and net-zero carbon goals.
About the Team
The Talent and Capability team, a centre of excellence in Transpower's People Division, designs and implements programs that help attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce. Their scope includes workforce planning, remuneration, job evaluation, HR data insights, leadership development, diversity, inclusion, and learning initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Support annual and mid-year remuneration review processes through analysis, recommendations, communication, and reporting.
- Use remuneration frameworks to evaluate pay positioning, internal relativities, and equity considerations.
- Participate in external remuneration surveys by validating and submitting data.
- Conduct Korn Ferry job evaluations, including preparing rationales and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain current and precise job evaluation, position, and remuneration data.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in HR data management, remuneration processes, and related activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of remuneration frameworks and analytics, demonstrated through at least two years of relevant experience. They should possess solid communication skills, an analytical mindset, sound judgment, and handle confidential information with professionalism. Comfort with data and presenting insights to varied audiences is essential.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification and Korn Ferry job evaluation training with practical application.
- Minimum two years of experience in remuneration analysis, process management, and reporting.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong numerical attention to detail.
- Experience working with HR information systems, payroll, or remuneration platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to different stakeholders.
