Role overview
This position calls for a dependable and alert Security Officer to help create a safe, orderly environment for customers, employees, and company property inside a retail store. The role focuses on active monitoring, loss prevention, incident response, and adherence to safety procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Keep watch over the retail floor and surrounding areas through regular patrolling to deter theft, damage, and unauthorized access.
- Track the behavior of shoppers and staff to identify possible shoplifting or other suspicious activity.
- Carry out bag inspections and manage entry control when the situation requires it.
- Act quickly when security events, alarms, emergencies, or disruptions occur.
- Document incidents and day-to-day activities in clear, detailed reports.
- Support crowd management during busy periods, special promotions, or events.
- Make sure fire-fighting equipment and emergency exits stay unobstructed and available.
- Coordinate with store leadership and, when needed, law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain a helpful customer-facing approach while still projecting a strong security presence.
- Apply company rules and safety standards consistently.
