Job description
About the Role
This position supports the pharmacy team in a locally owned store that delivers health, beauty, and convenience services to the community. The focus is on keeping patients and customers at the center of every interaction while helping with prescription dispensing, pharmacy operations, and service delivery in line with pharmacy standards.
Customer Service
- Welcome customers quickly and collect prescription details according to established standards.
- Carry out tasks in the order set by the role assignment schedule.
- Direct all clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Dispense prescription medicines accurately.
- Process third-party claims when needed.
- Set clear and realistic expectations about wait times.
- Retrieve prescriptions and any related items, then complete checkout.
- Send customers who need advice or counselling to the pharmacist.
- Operate and safeguard the cash register in the dispensary.
- Follow all privacy and confidentiality obligations.
Administration
- Accept new and refill prescription orders according to standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and submit orders, excluding controlled medications and narcotics.
- Handle third-party billing, including online adjudication and manual account management.
- Answer incoming calls and route pharmacy-related matters to the pharmacist when required.
- Process incoming faxes in line with pharmacy standards of practice.
- File finished records accurately and on time.
Prescription Workflow
- Support prescription preparation according to company and professional service standards.
- Enter new prescriptions and manage refill requests in the system.
- Select the correct medication for each prescription as required by pharmacy standards.
- Count, measure, package, and label medications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate information in the relevant pharmacy systems.
Qualifications
- Current registration with the relevant provincial licensing college.
- Pharmacy Technician diploma from a recognized college.
- Prior pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational ability with the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail.

Compensation
The hiring rate is between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour. Pay may vary based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and the geographical region of the role.
