Pharmacist - Full Time Hourly, Flexible Shifts

Position Overview

Role Significance

This position involves managing Pharmacy operations during your shift, consulting with customers and healthcare providers, dispensing medication, and supporting dispensary maintenance while practicing to the full professional scope.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet every customer who approaches the Pharmacy warmly.
• Operate strictly within all applicable federal, provincial, regulatory, and legal frameworks.
• Maintain customer confidentiality and manage consents, adhering to privacy regulations.
• Offer counselling on prescriptions and non-prescription medications including behind-the-counter products.
• Deliver professional services to the full extent of your expanded scope within your competency.
• Ensure public identification as the Pharmacy professional on duty.
• Verify the accuracy and suitability of all medications dispensed.
• Engage with healthcare professionals within the care circle to support customer health needs.
• Keep all required records consistent with legislation, professional standards, and company policies.
• Maintain strict control over dispensary access to protect inventory and patient confidentiality.
• Daily management of Workflow Queues and regular assessment of ‘will call’ prescription bins per established procedures.
• Conduct stock reviews to detect expired products and oversee inventory levels.
• Manage medication orders and adhere to documentation and control requirements, particularly under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including reporting to Health Canada and regulators.
• Ensure that Pharmacy workstations, counselling and waiting areas are maintained to project a professional image.
• Participate in financial reporting as relevant to store operations.
• Review and take action on internal store communications.
• Document any incidents involving medication or privacy breaches affecting staff or customers.

Compensation

Hourly wage range: $45.90 to $59.40 CAD, dependent on experience and location.
