Job description
Job Purpose
This role involves delivering fundamental primary care and general nursing services to company employees, addressing illness and workplace-related injuries. Additionally, it encompasses involvement in screening initiatives and aviation nursing responsibilities to ensure compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH) and General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and evaluate their needs to offer optimal care and guidance.
- Measure vital signs, collect samples as needed, and prepare necessary equipment for clinical evaluations or procedures.
- Prepare patients for general practitioner consultations and assist in conducting regulatory and screening medical assessments in line with established protocols.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and carry out nursing tasks, including administering oral, intramuscular, and intravenous medications, changing dressings, measuring blood pressure, performing fingertip blood glucose tests, ECGs, spirometry, and ear lavage.
- Deliver immediate medical attention during emergency situations.
- Work collaboratively with physicians to develop patient-specific care plans.
- Ensure prompt and precise documentation of test outcomes into the medical records system before physician review, and notify doctors promptly of abnormalities.
- Take an active role in clinical audits to enhance care quality.
- Implement infection control standards daily, inspect medical facilities for hygiene and safety, and execute necessary sterilization and sanitation tasks.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Nursing Degree.
- Valid licensure from the Ministry of Health.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and database management systems.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
Experience and Other Requirements
- At least two years’ experience as a registered nurse in primary care or similar nursing practices.
- Capability to work on a 24-hour shift roster.
- Ability to function independently with minimal oversight while also being a cooperative team member within the medical center.
- Good physical health and fitness levels.
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing care procedures and emergency protocols.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thorough knowledge and adherence to health and safety policies, including sanitation and decontamination procedures.
