Role Overview
As a Registered Nurse in the Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) unit, you'll employ the nursing process to provide patient-centered care, uphold professional responsibilities, and appraise the quality and outcomes of care delivered by the healthcare team. Coordination with other departments, protection of patient rights, and strict maintenance of confidentiality are integral to your role. Your duties will align with the healthcare organization's mission, core values, and established standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care and conduct thorough patient assessments to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation while safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere strictly to clinical standards, protocols, and compliance requirements to guarantee quality care.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program, such as an Associate's degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Possession of a valid Registered Nurse license for the relevant state or a recognized compact nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; department-specific additional certifications like Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) may also be necessary.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling as part of patient care duties.
