Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our inpatient ward team (Tui) on a permanent, part-time basis, with potential for full-time hours for the right candidate. This role involves delivering exceptional care across various surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgery. Role Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care to patients within the inpatient ward, covering multiple surgical specialties listed above.
- Report directly to the Charge Nurse, contributing actively to a supportive and skilled nursing team.
- Collaborate with surgeons, allied health professionals, and nursing staff to ensure patient-centered, high-quality clinical care.
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation and ongoing peri-operative education tailored to your expertise.
Candidate Requirements
- Current New Zealand Nursing Registration (Annual Practicing Certificate) is mandatory.
- Minimum of three years’ surgical nursing experience in New Zealand preferred, with prior experience in a ward surgical environment, ideally within a private hospital.
- Strong teamwork skills, with a cooperative approach to working in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Excellent patient assessment abilities combined with an organized, methodical approach to nursing duties.
- Clear, professional communication skills with the capacity to remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, in alignment with operational needs.
