Role overview
The Registered Midwife position is focused on delivering person-centred, evidence-based maternity care while staying aligned with professional ethics, clinical standards, and regulatory expectations.
Core duties
- Provide coordinated care for women during antenatal, labour, postnatal, and newborn stages, working closely with the wider healthcare team and following approved clinical guidelines and applicable laws.
- Protect patient wellbeing by recognising risks early and applying appropriate prevention and management measures in line with risk policies and legislation.
- Support a positive experience for patients and their families by helping maintain a calm, supportive care environment under nursing leadership.
- Keep nursing documentation complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards as well as legal record-keeping requirements.
- Help develop a strong learning culture by supervising, coaching, and mentoring learners and nursing staff to strengthen capability.
- Use stock, supplies, and equipment responsibly and efficiently in accordance with Mediclinic procedures.
Education and experience
A relevant bachelor’s degree is required, along with valid BLS and NRP certification. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in their own country.
Skills and knowledge
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Clear written and spoken communication
- Understanding of patient safety principles and standards
