Position Overview
The Regional Vice President is accountable for the financial and operational success of a group of approximately 5-10 fencing, decking, and hardscape companies scattered across the U.S. This executive role has full responsibility for the portfolio’s profit and loss and collaborates closely with local Presidents, General Managers, founders, and functional leaders to enhance growth, operational efficiency, and overall enterprise value.
This position requires a comprehensive grasp of all major business areas including operations, sales, marketing, recruitment, labor management, pricing, finance, customer experience, and organizational development. Integrating these domains, the leader will work to boost revenue, maximize profitability, improve cash flow, raise service standards, and strengthen organizational capabilities across the portfolio.
Additionally, the role spearheads the integration of new acquisitions into OEP, aligning strategic objectives with founders and management, setting performance expectations, implementing financial and operational frameworks, identifying growth and efficiency enhancements, and aiding through organizational transformations.
The ideal candidate excels in analyzing financial reports, mentoring local leaders, evaluating marketing outcomes, resolving operational issues, and collaborating with field teams. The role necessitates frequent travel, excellent business acumen, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, private equity-driven context.
This position is expected to oversee $100 million or more in revenue and reports directly to the Platform President.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage consolidated P&L and financial performance metrics, including revenue, EBITDA, cash flows, budgets, and forecasts for 5-10 operational companies.
- Create and implement yearly operating plans, growth tactics, margin enhancement initiatives, and performance objectives for portfolio businesses.
- Analyze financial and operational data to detect performance issues, prioritize initiatives, allocate resources efficiently, and formulate corrective strategies.
- Act as the main operational partner and mentor to Presidents, General Managers, and leadership teams, upholding accountability for results.
- Elevate leadership across the portfolio via talent assessment, recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and mentoring.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts in operations, sales, marketing, recruiting, pricing, finance, and customer service to meet portfolio goals.
- Collaborate with OEP functional leaders to deploy scalable processes and best practices, maintaining each company's unique local identity.
- Enhance critical performance drivers such as lead generation, sales conversion rates, pricing strategies, job profitability, labor efficiency, customer satisfaction, and employee retention.
- Lead operational integration of acquisitions including personnel, processes, systems, reporting, budgeting, performance tracking, and organizational alignment.
- Install operating cadence, key performance indicators, and accountability frameworks across existing and new businesses.
- Promote sharing of best practices and resources across brands and markets to accelerate growth and operational improvements.
- Maintain frequent on-site presence through visits, leadership meetings, field observations, and direct engagement with local teams.
- Translate enterprise value drivers into actionable priorities, coaching, decisions, and investments.
- Report portfolio performance and strategy to the board of directors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations, or related discipline; an MBA from a premier institution is advantageous.
- Over 7 years of progressive leadership with significant P&L accountability.
- Proven success managing multi-location, multi-brand, or decentralized service enterprises.
- Strong track record of enhancing revenue, EBITDA, operational processes, and organizational capability.
- Robust financial expertise including budgeting, forecasting, KPI oversight, financial statement interpretation, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Experience mentoring senior leaders such as General Managers, Presidents, and company founders.
- Broad knowledge across operations, sales, marketing, human resources, finance, and customer experience.
- Background in acquisition integration or managing significant organizational change.
- Experience with private equity-backed, founder-led, home services, construction, or field service industries preferred.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, judgement, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-moving, evolving, and highly accountable environment.
Location & Travel
Candidates should reside near a major U.S. airport and be prepared to travel frequently—about 75% travel anticipated depending on portfolio and acquisition requirements.
