Regional Director Supply Chain - Materials Management Logistics

Position Overview

The Regional Director of Supply Chain is accountable for managing and advancing supply chain operations within an entire region, reporting primarily to the System Director of Operations and Logistics and secondarily to the Regional CFO. This role provides strategic leadership to enhance supply chain processes and ensure alignment with both regional and system-wide objectives. The position demands oversight of facility-level teams, supply management improvements, workflow analysis, quality assurance, contract execution, data governance, policy enforcement, and talent development within the supply chain domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Fulfill leadership competencies expected at various organizational levels, including self-leadership and leading others.
• Partner with the System Director of Operations and Logistics to define and execute the regional supply chain strategy.
• Guide facility supply chain leadership teams in implementing regional and system improvement projects.
• Collaborate closely with facility leaders to monitor team productivity and operational outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, OIG Vendor Compliance, Vendor Integrity protocols, product recalls, alerts, and other regulatory mandates.
• Oversee accuracy and promptness in inventory movements (issues, returns, transfers, adjustments) utilizing the Infor system.
• Conduct high-profile onsite visits to maintain visibility and engagement.
• Coordinate annual fiscal inventories and report findings to the internal finance team and System Supply Chain Director.
• Provide backup support for the Materials Management Director during absences such as FMLA or PTO.
• Ensure recommended supply fill rates and PAR levels are met consistently.
• Serve as the principal liaison between Supply Chain Logistics and facility stakeholders to resolve customer issues expediently.
• Ensure all contract initiation packets are completed and converted within a 60-day timeframe.
• Review monthly financial reports and collaborate with local finance teams on corrective actions where necessary.
• Analyze weekly reports to verify adherence to processes including valuation reporting, cycle counts, obsolete item management, inventory adjustments, and product expirations.
• Identify and implement region-wide operational and system enhancements focused on quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and sensitive data, disclosing only as necessary for operational requirements.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Materials Management applications proficiently.
• Apply business planning expertise to perform cost-impact analyses.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; skilled in teaching and mentoring associates.
• Balance the diverse needs of facilities, region, and system stakeholders.
• Handle interpersonal situations with sensitivity, including those involving emotional states.
• Write comprehensive reports and correspondence as needed.
• Solve complex problems involving multiple variables.
• Collaborate comfortably within a matrix organizational environment.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the System Director of Operations and Logistics and Regional Leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
• At least 12 years of pertinent work experience, ideally including 10 years managing multiple healthcare facilities.
• Robust knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement, ancillary, support, and clinical services.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly with platforms like Infor, preferably involving multiple systems.
• Proven track record in initiating and successfully completing large projects.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including policy and procedure development.
• Familiarity with medical products and equipment relevant to acute care hospital supply chains.
• Certification as a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Standard work week consists of five days with eight-hour shifts.
• Position is full-time and requires onsite presence in Tyler, Texas.
