About the Role
The Regional Director for Southern California at UFC Gym acts as the key liaison between corporate leadership and managed clubs across the region. Reporting directly to the Vice Presidents of Sales, Fitness, and Executive VP of Operations, the director standardizes processes, enforces accountability, and guides training efforts to ensure operational excellence. This leader fosters alignment between the field teams and corporate departments, promoting positive experiences for both employees and customers through communication and leadership development.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive sales performance by mentoring General Managers on KPIs, accountability, and financial outcomes.
- Conduct sales training to boost lead generation, appointment setting, guest conversions, and membership sales.
- Ensure achievement of monthly membership, EFT, and personal training sales targets.
- Lead regular accountability meetings to strategize promotions, pricing, and sales alignment across clubs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on talent management, succession planning, and staffing decisions.
- Oversee fitness operations by coaching fitness managers on training, onboarding, leadership, and performance standards.
- Manage private coaching sales, evaluate fitness program performance, and monitor operational metrics.
- Recruit, develop, and retain fitness personnel including managers, coaches, and instructors.
- Guarantee program quality, curriculum adherence, and consistency of member experience.
- Direct club operations ensuring compliance with budgets, operational standards, and delivering outstanding member service.
- Supervise operational teams such as maintenance, janitorial, childcare programs, and front desk support.
- Coordinate presales activities, new club launches, payroll accuracy, and facility maintenance.
- Improve operational efficiencies through quality control, inventory management, and loss prevention.
- Partner with senior leaders on succession planning and personnel development within operations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of UFC Gym operations and culture.
- Proven capability to train and educate current and new managers on various strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional communication skills suited for varied audiences.
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to assess situations quickly, provide guidance, and coach effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on relationship building.
- Experienced in mentoring and training development associates; adept at collaborating with leadership.
- Highly motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with DotFIT, ABC, Datatrak systems, fitness equipment, and program management.
- Fitness industry background preferred with an affinity for health and wellness.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% within domestic/local clubs for training and meetings.
- College degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years in progressively senior leadership roles within fitness clubs.
- Experience managing multiple club locations is advantageous.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours regularly.
- Occasional physical activities including walking, kneeling, reaching with arms and hands.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 45 pounds.
- Potential exposure to loud noise levels sporadically.
- Open to relocating or residing within Northern California.
