Role Overview

The Regional Director of Admissions leads and manages admissions operations within a designated region. This leadership role collaborates with Central Admissions, facility management, and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate timely, efficient, and clinically appropriate client placements across Pyramid Healthcare’s continuum. The position emphasizes operational excellence, client service optimization, access to care support, and adherence to relevant policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee regional admissions operations ensuring client placement is prompt and clinically appropriate across care levels.
  • Manage admissions processes including transfers and bed management with a focus on operational efficiency and access enhancement.
  • Partner with facility administrators, clinical teams, transportation units, and external parties to refine admissions workflows and improve client outcomes.
  • Act as the regional expert for admissions, Medicaid Division functions, bed management, and associated operational procedures.
  • Design, execute, and assess operational plans, quality programs, and initiatives aimed at performance enhancement.
  • Review admissions data, performance metrics, quality measures, and client feedback to pinpoint trends and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure accuracy in bed management software, admissions records, and operational reports.
  • Support and implement change management by coaching and training staff and leaders across departments and facilities.
  • Supervise transportation coordination to facilitate timely client transitions and maintain care continuity.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all organizational information.
  • Complete all required trainings as stipulated by the company and accrediting/licensing bodies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Supervisory Duties

  • Directly supervise admissions team including supervisors, team leads, coordinators, dispatchers, and related personnel. Responsibilities encompass recruitment involvement, onboarding, mentoring, scheduling, performance review, corrective actions, staff development, succession planning, and ensuring department operational success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory, preferably in human services or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in health or human services environments favored, especially within drug and alcohol treatment settings.
  • Familiarity with utilization management, case management, or bed management preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including coaching and developing employees.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, along with effective interpersonal relations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of admissions operations, utilization, bed management, and client placement.
  • Capability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and lead improvement measures.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and behavioral health service delivery along with exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Advanced proficiency with electronic health records, bed management tools, Microsoft Office suite, and analytical reporting software.
  • Capacity to juggle multiple tasks, adapt to operational changes, and exercise independent judgment responsibly.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state licensing, accreditation, and compliance standards applicable to healthcare operations.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards consistently.

Physical and Work Environment

Physical requirements include frequent talking and hearing, regular sitting, standing, walking, stair climbing, hand use for handling equipment, and occasional stooping or lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements cover various fields including close and peripheral vision. The role demands functioning in varied settings such as office, healthcare, and behavioral health environments with frequent client and professional interactions. Local travel is necessary, including reliable personal transportation. Exposure to communicable diseases and emotionally charged situations may occur.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual salary for this position is $50,000, subject to adjustment based on experience and qualifications.
