Role overview
Friends for Kathy Hochul is hiring a full-time Regional Coalitions Director to support the campaign of New York State’s first female Governor, Kathy Hochul. This position is responsible for driving the Coalitions program across the Suburbs region, which includes Long Island, Westchester County, and the Hudson Valley. The role is based in New York, with the location listed as Manhattan, Long Island, or Westchester County.
The position reports to the Coalitions Director. The starting pay is $6,500 per month, and the role includes healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
Key responsibilities
The Regional Coalitions Director will build and sustain relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and advocates throughout the region. The role also supports the development of Coalition Advisory Councils with important constituencies and stakeholders, and serves as the lead for planning and logistics for coalition events.
Additional duties include coordinating with partners in the coordinated campaign, assisting with briefing preparation, and reviewing, organizing, and sharing materials for coalition events and political call time. The role may also include other duties as needed.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should bring at least 2 years of experience in managing political relationships and supporting campaign events. Familiarity with Long Island, Westchester County, or the Hudson Valley is considered an advantage.
Candidates must be comfortable working outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong organization, attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects, and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are important for success in this role. The position also requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently.
