About the Role
The Regional Business Director (RBD) for the South Central region plays a pivotal role in the sales leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales. This position entails developing and implementing regional business strategies to effectively promote both current and future sleep medication products. The role demands a strong customer-centric approach coupled with excellence in strategy execution. Success hinges on establishing solid business partnerships internally and with external clients, while leading and mentoring a diverse, high-achieving sales team to exceed their targets across the Ohio Valley region.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, recruit, coach, and retain top sales talent to build a robust sales organization.
- Coach and lead a high-performance sales team to achieve and surpass sales goals.
- Own and execute a customized regional business plan aligned with brand and business strategies, ensuring compliant sales growth and meeting objectives and KPIs tailored to customer and territory needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments like Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Field Reimbursement, Market Access, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Commercial Learning, and Compliance, as well as external partners to optimize access and foster positive business outcomes.
- Drive motivation, development, and retention of a diverse sales team focused on delivering consistent results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a management capacity such as Regional Manager or Product Management.
- Experience in cross-functional roles including Training, Commercial Operations, Reimbursement, and Market Access is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in building and coaching sales teams with demonstrated success in specialty pharmaceutical markets.
- Strong account-based management skills, including experience with orphan diseases, rare diseases, specialty pharmacies, and buy-and-bill models; neurology market experience preferred.
- Demonstrated sales achievements reflected by quota attainment, ranking, and industry recognition.
- Comprehensive knowledge of reimbursement and insurance coverage for physician-administered treatments.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and compliance environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high ethical standards.
- Advanced business degree considered an asset.
- Proven success in launching products within competitive and complex markets.
- Self-driven with the ability to independently seek new business opportunities.
- Willingness and ability to travel 30-50% as required.
