Role Overview

The position calls for leading and growing Clinigen's Business Development (BD) function for Clinical Supplies across the UK and Europe. It is a significant player-coach leadership role balancing personal business development duties alongside guiding a team of five BD professionals. The role includes driving revenue growth, nurturing strategic customer relationships, and refreshing commercial strategies to advance the business further within a global organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities throughout the UK and European markets managing your own sales pipeline and meeting revenue goals.
• Strengthen and grow strategic customer partnerships, including reactivating previous client accounts.
• Create detailed account plans and discover growth prospects in key market areas.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five business development professionals.
• Evaluate team skills, market coverage, and implement improvements for enhanced commercial output.
• Support the team with complex sales and strategic customer initiatives.
• Challenge current practices and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the BD function.
• Represent Clinigen at client meetings, conferences, and industry-related events.

About You

• Extensive experience in business development leadership with a strong record of success selling intricate solutions to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
• Expertise preferably in Clinical Supply Services, Clinical Packaging, Labeling, Distribution, or working within CDMOs or similar outsourcing environments.
• Minimum of 8 years in B2B sales/business development in pharma, biotech, or related sectors.
• At least 6 years focused on Clinical Supply or Clinical Service solutions sales.
• Proven track record of achieving commercial objectives and increasing revenue.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring business development teams.
• Excellent consultative selling aptitude, able to analyze and address complex customer requirements.
• Strong commercial insight, strategic mindset, and readiness to challenge conventional approaches.

Additional Role Details

The role requires approximately 60-70% individual business development efforts and 30-40% team leadership activities, including frequent travel across Europe.
