Job description

Role overview

AWS Talent Acquisition is hiring a customer-oriented Recruitment Partner to support hiring across Australia. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires working from the CBD office five days each week, with the role based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

The position is suited to someone who has strong experience recruiting security-cleared professionals and a solid understanding of the security-cleared or defence talent market. The role focuses on building innovative sourcing approaches, shaping recruitment strategy, and helping AWS connect with high-calibre talent for a wide range of technology roles.

You will spend your time on talent mapping, proactive outreach, market engagement, and relationship building. The role sits within a collaborative talent acquisition team that values innovation, shared ownership, and measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to understand role needs and translate them into practical hiring plans and sourcing approaches.
  • Build and keep active candidate networks through market research, ongoing engagement, and assessment of fit, motivation, and culture alignment.
  • Use a broad set of sourcing routes such as referrals, internal CRM tools, career portals, and job fairs.
  • Act as a talent market specialist by sharing insight and recommendations that support longer-term hiring strategy.
  • Improve existing recruitment workflows and introduce new methods that support Amazon’s customer-focused standards.
  • Apply a data-led approach to improve recruiting performance and operational outcomes.
  • Support hiring managers and interviewers with recruitment best practices and interview training.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated background recruiting roles that require a high security clearance, or strong knowledge of the defence talent market.
  • At least 5 years of technical recruiting experience, or equivalent experience in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to manage several searches, projects, and stakeholder relationships at the same time.
  • Strong sourcing skills with the ability to build proactive pipelines and engage external candidates.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and negotiation abilities, with a clear focus on results.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Preferred: experience improving recruiting processes or similar workflows.
  • Preferred: experience influencing and working across multiple teams and organisations.
  • Preferred: experience using data and analytics to measure, refine, and scale hiring processes.

About the team

The talent acquisition group is a highly collaborative team that is committed to finding and developing exceptional people. Team members work together to deliver meaningful hiring outcomes and support AWS’s growth across Australia.

Equal opportunity and accommodation

Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of veteran status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
