Job description

Role overview

This position is centered on increasing the recovered value from retired IT hardware by spotting opportunities that are not yet being captured. The work happens at the sub-component level, with attention on parts hidden inside larger assemblies, such as individual chips or other high-value elements that may be missed during a broader disposition review. The role covers the full path from identifying an opportunity to putting it into practice, and the outputs will contribute to the wider value recovery strategy led by the NPI Coordinator. As the programme grows, responsibilities may broaden into additional value recovery and reverse logistics work.

re:Cycle Reverse Logistics is an electronics processing, reuse, and recycling business focused on extending the life of used electronic equipment, particularly hardware used in data centers. It operates as a separate company within the Amazon corporate family. The team is seeking a detail-focused, technically curious professional to help uncover extra value from processed hardware and translate findings into real operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Review components and assemblies recovered from rack demanufacturing and other sources to uncover new value recovery opportunities.
  • Spot salvageable sub-components across multiple hardware types, including both proprietary equipment and third-party OEM products.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Systems, Engineering, and Commercial teams to move value recovery ideas from concept to implementation.
  • Help build workflows and processes that allow identified value to be captured at scale.
  • Record findings, keep documentation of recovery opportunities, and monitor progress on initiatives.
  • Support other value recovery, reverse logistics, or related assignments as needed by management.

What the team offers

The organization emphasizes diverse backgrounds and encourages applicants even if their experience has followed a non-traditional path or only partially matches the preferred profile. AWS highlights work-life balance, an inclusive culture, and strong learning and mentorship support as part of its workplace environment.

Basic qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Analysis, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
  • Working knowledge of electronic components, with the ability to examine assemblies and identify individual sub-components such as ICs, transistors, capacitors, and connectors, along with an understanding of how they function.

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
  • Experience introducing process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including executives or clients.
  • Background working with global cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in IT asset disposition (ITAD), electronics recycling, or component recovery.
  • Familiarity with inventory or asset management systems.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on varied tasks as the role and programme evolve.
