About the Role

Fresno EOC is seeking a Receptionist/Tutor to provide cross-functional clerical support for the SOUL team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and delivering essential tutoring services to students. The position operates under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor and contributes to the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily tutoring services to students according to a set schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions conducted.
  • Collaborate with SOUL faculty to offer support across various instructional areas.
  • Manage incoming calls, greet visitors, answer inquiries, and direct individuals to the appropriate staff or programs.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor in all interactions with colleagues, students, and the public.
  • Ensure the highest level of confidentiality regarding student records and other sensitive information.
  • Travel for work-related activities using personal transportation.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with high school students and the public is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven capacity for collaborative teamwork.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that foster a respectful and cooperative work atmosphere.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or proficiency in another secondary language is advantageous, depending on client and community needs.
  • Must be able to plan, prioritize, and organize work efficiently.
  • Capability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced work setting.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, employees, and the public.
  • Willingness to follow directions from supervisory staff.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and days to meet position demands.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance meeting state requirements and organizational standards for operating company vehicles.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms is expected. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The role requires regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted in an office setting with low to moderate noise levels and controlled temperatures. Standard business hours are typical, but occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Travel between work sites may be necessary. The employee must be adaptable to various work environments.

Additional Information

This position requires working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
