Job description
Job Overview
Prince Sultan University’s Preparatory Year Program in Riyadh is hiring a qualified male English Lecturer/Instructor for the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time academic role is based on campus and is intended for a candidate who can contribute to teaching, assessment, student support, and wider program development within the PYP.
Role Expectations
- Teach English to Preparatory Year students, with a workload of 20 contact hours per semester.
- Support learning across mixed-ability classrooms and help students progress through A1–B1 CEFR levels where applicable.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment activities, committees, professional growth initiatives, and student support work.
- Use educational technology and academic systems effectively for instruction, evaluation, and course administration.
- Maintain strong English communication in spoken and written form, as teaching, assessment, and academic advising are conducted in English.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, or a closely related discipline is expected.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field together with a recognized teaching qualification such as CELTA or an equivalent credential is acceptable.
- Academic degrees must have been earned from an accredited university through full-time on-site study.
- Applicants should have relevant experience teaching English at university, foundation, or preparatory program level.
- Experience with Saudi or Gulf-region EFL learners, or a clear understanding of EFL teaching contexts, is preferred.
- Candidates should bring strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management abilities for diverse groups of learners.

About the Program
The Preparatory Year Program is a one-year bridge program that helps students move from high school into university study. It builds numerical, language, digital, practical, and study skills needed for undergraduate success. Students learn in a supportive environment with experienced faculty and staff and are encouraged to take part in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Salary and Benefits
- One-year renewable contract, subject to dean/director and student evaluations.
- Competitive salary package based on academic qualification, rank, and teaching experience.
- Medical insurance for the employee and eligible dependents living in the Kingdom, including spouse and up to 4 children below 24 years old.
- Transport allowance.
- Annual round-trip airfare for up to 4 family members: employee, spouse, and 2 children below 18 years of age.
- Paid annual summer vacation of 2 months, plus 2 local paid holidays of about 15 days each, as applicable.
- Tuition support of up to SAR 30,000 for school-going children within the Kingdom, with final details defined in the contract.
- Free furnished accommodation with essential utilities and maintenance, depending on availability, or a housing allowance based on academic rank.
- End-of-service yearly gratuity beginning in the second year of continuous service, provided the employee has completed at least 2 years.

The university campus is located in north-central Riyadh. PSU’s Preparatory Year Program supports students preparing for English-medium undergraduate studies in areas such as Computer and Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Aviation Management, Engineering, Law, Architecture and Interior Design, English, Translation and Applied Linguistics. PSU also offers graduate programs including MBA, Master in Computer Information Systems, Master’s in Software Engineering/Cyber Security, and Master’s in Commercial Law.
