Role Summary
The Rapid Responder Healthcare Assistant is integral to delivering high-quality, person-centred care within clients' homes. This position requires responding swiftly to urgent care scenarios, supporting regular care assistants, and maintaining continuous care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to urgent care requests, delivering immediate assistance and support.
- Quickly assess client needs to provide suitable care interventions.
- Effectively communicate with care management teams to update on client situations and actions taken.
- Follow pre-established working practices, procedures, and care plans to avoid confusing customers during short-notice care.
- Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using equipment as necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed, adhering to company policies.
- Perform all tasks with dignity and respect towards the client.
- Offer companionship and emotional encouragement, promoting social interaction and participation.
- Help with meal preparation and household duties to ensure a comfortable environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers for comprehensive care.
- Maintain timely communication with care management about concerns or client updates.
- Coordinate with Branch Manager and Care Coordinator teams to support care delivery.
Essential Qualifications and Training
- QQI Level 5 Healthcare Award or equivalent is mandatory.
- Valid full clean driving license and access to own vehicle essential.
- Completion of training including Children’s First, Safeguarding, Dementia Care, GDPR, Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene, and PPE protocols via HSE LAND platform.

Experience
Previous healthcare experience is essential to fulfill this role effectively.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from €33,020 to €37,128 annually.
- Mileage reimbursement at €0.44 per kilometer or availability of a company vehicle.

Working Hours
- 3 or 4 days per week schedule.
- Twelve-hour shifts totaling 84 hours every fortnight.
- Work every alternate weekend.
- Availability between 8 am and 9 pm required.
Additional Information
Important: Driving with your own vehicle and holding a full driving license are essential criteria for this position.
