About the Role
This temporary position as an OO6 Ranger (Assets Coordinator) is focused on overseeing the Central Region's annual asset maintenance program, managing approximately $900,000 in maintenance investments across various visitor and operational infrastructure. The role ensures the safety, functionality, and sustainability of assets for staff, visitors, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, administer, and oversee the delivery of the regional asset maintenance program.
- Plan, monitor, and report on maintenance activities and associated expenditures.
- Provide guidance and support to Rangers on asset management and maintenance planning.
- Support optimal use of the department’s asset management system (Loc8).
- Manage contracts and maintain strong relationships with external contractors.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance program delivery.
- Contribute to capital works and other priority projects within the region when required.
About You
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in asset management, maintenance coordination, procurement, or contract administration.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors as necessary.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Current Construction White Card certification.
- Background in construction, infrastructure maintenance, or asset management.
- Experience managing small to mid-sized construction or maintenance projects.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, contractor management, and contract administration.
Additional Information
This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but demands strong stakeholder engagement and contract management skills. The position primarily operates Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work possible. It offers the chance to contribute to the preservation and management of Queensland’s parks and protected areas while developing valuable skills in asset management and program coordination.
