Queensmith Academy Goldsmith Curriculum Cohort (September 2026 Intake)

Programme Overview

Queensmith’s Academy is a three-year development pathway for people who already have a basic grounding in jewellery making and are ready to build a long-term career as a Goldsmith. The role is structured as a fixed-term contract covering the full 3-year Academy curriculum.

This intake has up to 6 available places for September 2026. You’ll train within the production team, learning from experienced mentors and taking on more advanced work as your capability grows. By the end of the programme, successful participants should be working to Queensmith’s standards, and there may be an opportunity to step into a permanent position as the business expands, if there is a suitable need at that time.

The organisation is looking for people who are prepared to work hard, develop steadily, and grow with the team.

Responsibilities During the Programme

• Prepare and assemble castings using the methods needed for each design.
• Carry out soldering and laser work on gold and platinum.
• Resize and finish customers’ own jewellery pieces.
• Complete assigned tasks quickly and in line with manufacturing instructions.
• Raise questions clearly whenever issues or uncertainties arise during production.
• Handle client orders according to company procedures.
• Keep an accurate record of your own time and productivity.
• Maintain a neat, well-organised, and tidy workstation.
• Assist senior colleagues, including the Head of Manufacturing and the Head of Workshop L&D, when required.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to learn and develop new capabilities in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work with microscopes and other specialist tools; training will be provided.
• Comfort working to deadlines and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of quality.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and readiness to represent the company well.
• Professional workshop discipline, including dependable attendance, steady performance, pride in workmanship, and a strong desire to keep learning.

Selection Process

Applications are expected to be high in number, so individual feedback cannot be provided and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Those shortlisted will be invited to a selection day that includes a practical bench assessment.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term contract for the full 3-year duration of the Academy. The programme is based in London, England, United Kingdom and is an onsite role. Up to 6 vacancies are available for the September 2026 intake.
