Role Overview
Mohamed Hilal Group is looking for a meticulous and seasoned Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to become a part of our Interior Fit-Out Division. The successful candidate will handle precise cost estimations, quantity calculations, tender process submissions, and project cost oversight for premium residential, commercial, and retail interior fit-out projects. This position demands strong commercial insight, technical know-how, and collaboration with design, procurement, and execution teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) utilizing project drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for joinery, civil works, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), finishing, and interior fit-out components.
- Examine tender documents, drawings, and specifications to develop precise cost estimates.
- Source and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Submit competitive tenders adhering to strict deadlines.
- Analyze project expenditures to pinpoint opportunities for value engineering.
- Collaborate with Design, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure economical project delivery.
- Track budgets, manage variations, and oversee change orders throughout project duration.
- Prepare cost comparison matrices and perform commercial evaluations.
- Assist in contract management, payment processing, and final account reconciliations.
- Maintain current records of material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing data.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- At least five years of UAE-based experience specializing in quantity surveying and estimation within the interior fit-out sector.
- Proven track record working on upscale villas, retail stores, hospitality venues, and commercial fit-out projects.
- Thorough understanding of construction techniques, materials, and finishing works related to interiors.
- Experienced in generating BOQs, tender documentation, and cost reporting.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and contract administration is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid UAE driving license is preferred.
Technical Proficiencies
- Proficient in AutoCAD for drawing interpretation and quantity analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
- Experience using estimation and quantity surveying software tools.
- Capability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial aptitude.
