Role Overview

This position focuses on conducting scheduled quality reviews to determine whether individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are receiving individualized support that matches their needs and circumstances. The role also evaluates how well service providers protect the health and safety of the people they support, while helping leadership identify improvement opportunities, provide technical guidance, and work with providers on ongoing service enhancements.

The successful candidate must live in Hillsborough, Pinellas, or Pasco County, Florida, and be prepared to travel by car up to 75% of the time.

Core Duties

  • Carry out structured assessments of programs and service providers to judge performance and alignment with required standards.
  • Check that services follow applicable laws, regulations, and policies connected to developmental disabilities.
  • Pinpoint gaps in service delivery and collaborate with stakeholders on quality improvement actions.
  • Review records, reports, and other documentation to confirm that individuals’ needs are being addressed appropriately and respectfully.
  • Support the rights, safety, and dignity of people with developmental disabilities through person-centered review practices.
  • Examine outcome data, satisfaction measures, and other relevant information to guide decisions and improvement efforts.
  • Maintain communication with providers, agencies, and other parties involved in service delivery.
  • Offer technical assistance, instruction, and practical guidance to staff and providers on standards, compliance, and best practices.
  • Use sound professional judgment and respond immediately to suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation according to established procedures.
  • Interview service recipients and provider staff in a respectful, professional manner.
  • Prepare accurate review documentation and write reports based on findings.

Supervision

Work is planned independently, with coordination from the manager to set priorities.
