Job description
Role overview
As a Quality Improvement Advisor, you will act as the main point of contact and coach for hospitals. Your work will center on spotting opportunities to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes, supporting the rollout of improvement efforts, and helping the organization meet healthcare quality goals.
Location and eligibility
This is a remote role, but candidates must live in Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, or Wyoming to be considered. Internal candidates based in other states may also be reviewed.
What you will do
- Work with hospitals to identify improvement needs and guide measurable gains in patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with local, state, and national organizations to connect providers and patients with relevant programs and learning opportunities.
- Review quality data at the regional, state, and provider level, support learning collaboratives, and give technical help as hospitals implement evidence-based practices.
- Use your understanding of hospital and healthcare systems, quality improvement methods, and relationship-building to engage partners and providers across the care continuum while aligning with state and federal quality priorities.
Required qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, public health, or a related field is required, unless you have equivalent experience such as 10 years of healthcare experience or an associate degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Prior healthcare quality improvement experience is required.
- Strong understanding of quality improvement principles and methods used in hospital settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with C-suite leaders, clinicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Working knowledge of hospital regulations at the state and federal level, including CMS quality measures, value-based payment models, and accreditation standards.
- Ability to coach and facilitate improvement efforts with providers and partners, offering technical support in your area of expertise or a setting-specific specialty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Enterprise User Administration (EUA) ID. As a CMS contractor employee with routine access to a federally controlled information system, you must create an Identity and Credentialing Tool (ICT) account and complete the required training if you do not already have an active EUA ID. Failure to secure the EUA ID within the required timeframe may lead to termination.
Preferred experience
- Experience working in a hospital environment.
- Master’s degree in public health, quality improvement science, health informatics, or a related discipline.
- Licensed RN, LPN, MSW, or CPHQ.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams that include physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and administrators.
- Proven ability to manage timelines, meet deadlines, and produce detailed written reports.
- Ability to turn complex data into practical insights and clear narratives for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
