Role Overview
As a Quality Improvement Advisor, you will act as the main point of contact and coach for hospital partners. The role centers on spotting opportunities to strengthen patient care, safety, and outcomes, then guiding improvement efforts that support healthcare goals.
Work Location Eligibility
This is a remote role, but candidates must reside in Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, or Wyoming to be eligible. Internal candidates from other states may still be considered.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with hospitals to identify improvement needs and help drive measurable gains in patient outcomes.
- Build partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to connect providers and patients with relevant programs and learning opportunities.
- Review quality data at the regional, state, and provider levels, support learning collaboratives, and deliver technical assistance as hospitals adopt evidence-based practices.
- Use your hospital and healthcare system knowledge, quality improvement background, and relationship-building abilities to engage effectively with partners and providers across the care continuum while supporting alignment with state and federal quality priorities.
Required Background
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, public health, or a closely related area is required, or equivalent experience such as 10 years of healthcare experience or an associate’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience.
- Hands-on experience in healthcare quality improvement is required.
- Strong understanding of quality improvement principles and methods used in hospital environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive relationships with C-suite leaders, clinicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Working knowledge of state and federal rules affecting hospitals, including CMS quality measures, value-based payment models, and accreditation requirements.
- Ability to coach and support improvement initiatives with providers and partners, including technical assistance in designated subject matter or setting-specific areas.
- An active Enterprise User Administration (EUA) ID is required for routine access to a CMS federally controlled information system. If you do not already have an active EUA ID, you must complete the required training and obtain one. Failure to secure the EUA ID within the required timeframe may lead to termination of employment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital environment.
- Master’s degree in public health, quality improvement science, health informatics, or a related discipline.
- Licensed RN, LPN, MSW, or CPHQ.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary groups, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and administrators.
- Ability to manage project schedules, meet deadlines, and prepare detailed written reports.
- Skill in turning complex data into practical insights and clear narratives for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
