Overview
This is a contract opportunity for a QGIS Specialist working fully remotely from the United States. The role calls for a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours and offers pay between $40 and $100 per hour.
What you will do
- Handle QGIS projects from start to finish, including gathering raw spatial information, preparing and refining datasets, and delivering finished map products.
- Keep a running record of methods, decisions, and workflow logic while carrying out data handling, spatial analysis, and map creation tasks.
- Structure, clean, and verify varied geospatial datasets so the final outputs remain accurate and internally consistent.
- Work with projections, coordinate reference systems, and spatial references to improve compatibility and output quality.
- Apply map styling and layer symbology to produce clear, polished visualizations for different use cases.
- Investigate and resolve issues in QGIS workflows while clearly communicating the approach used to solve them.
Requirements
- Deep, practical experience using QGIS and the ability to run complete GIS projects independently.
- A strong record of producing accurate spatial analyses, maps, and other geospatial deliverables through QGIS.
- Solid knowledge of spatial file formats, coordinate systems, projections, and core GIS concepts.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills for explaining technical choices and workflow reasoning.
- Strong abilities in organizing, cleansing, and transforming data within QGIS.
