Role Overview
This is an hourly contract opportunity for a Geospatial Analysis Specialist with a focus on QGIS. The position is remote and offers pay in the range of $30 to $80 per hour. The expected time commitment is 10 to 40 hours each week.
Core Responsibilities
- Build, organize, and upkeep spatial databases while maintaining strong data quality and consistency.
- Perform advanced geoprocessing and spatial analysis in QGIS to uncover usable insights.
- Create, adapt, and support QGIS plugins and extensions according to project needs.
- Streamline geospatial analysis tasks with Python and PyQGIS to make workflows faster and easier to repeat.
- Prepare polished maps and visual outputs for reporting and business decisions.
- Work with teams across functions to turn requirements into practical geospatial solutions.
- Explain technical results and spatial concepts clearly in both written and spoken communication.
Required Qualifications
- Deep working knowledge of QGIS, including spatial database handling, geoprocessing, and map creation.
- Strong Python ability with practical experience using PyQGIS for automation.
- Good understanding of projections, coordinate reference systems, and data conversion methods.
- Capability to tailor QGIS through plugin creation, scripting, or extension handling.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience producing professional cartographic deliverables for operational or business use.
- Well-developed organization skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Additional Information
This is a remote hourly contract role. The application flow is expected to take around 20 minutes and includes an initial application step, followed by email-based next steps, then resume review and an interview stage.
