Job Overview

The Factory Purchase Officer will be responsible for procuring raw materials, packaging materials, spares, and administrative items required at the factory. This procurement will be carried out following company procedures to meet organizational goals related to availability, timing, quantity, quality, and cost.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Applicants should be graduates, preferably holding an engineering degree or a science graduate. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in supply chain functions within FMCG or agro-food industries is preferred. However, freshers with an engineering background may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee last mile delivery execution for all factory-related procurement activities.
  • Execute purchasing operations compliant with audit standards and factory demand.
  • Identify and engage local vendors to fulfill business needs effectively.
  • Use SAP MM module, especially purchase masters, for managing procurement processes.
  • Schedule and follow up deliverables for raw and packaging materials based on production needs.
  • Process and manage purchase orders for factory maintenance and administrative items.
  • Conduct daily reviews of bulk and packaging materials stock.
  • Perform weekly evaluations of other ingredients aligned with rolling plans.
  • Review weekly factory indent processing activities.
  • Coordinate timely clearance of scrap and manage external warehouse stock coordination.
  • Manage fuel purchase coordination.
  • Monitor vendor payment processes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic vendor account reconciliations and obtain no-dues certificates.
  • Identify potential suppliers, support supplier development, and facilitate onboarding.
  • Track vendor performance and provide feedback to aid business adjustments.

Key Stakeholders

Internal interactions include factory teams such as stores, administration, quality control, and finance, as well as regional and corporate purchase teams. External engagement involves vendors, traders, third-party logistics warehousing agents, and transporters.
