Job description
Overview
This position focuses on leading and managing manufacturing excellence initiatives at the plant level, ensuring alignment with broader corporate and plant-specific objectives. The role involves interaction with other plants to disseminate and implement best practices within the designated plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence initiatives in line with plant and company goals.
- Implement corporate programs such as Lean, TPM, TQM, Six Sigma, and conduct regular gap assessments at the site.
- Manage critical business projects related to delivery, quality, and efficiency to support organizational objectives.
- Facilitate the development of personnel through training and coaching to support smooth execution of manufacturing excellence activities.
- Benchmark and adopt best practices from other plants for process improvement.
- Maintain effective communication platforms and organize continuous improvement meetings to promote knowledge sharing and cultural transformation within the plant.
- Create and standardize operational systems and processes.
- Proactively propose innovative ideas within the scope of responsibilities.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in manufacturing excellence methodologies including 5S, Kaizen, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues in quality, delivery, and efficiency.
- Experience conducting team workshops such as Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, process mapping, and data collection exercises.
- Capability to influence and effectively communicate with stakeholders across all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Control Plans.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) is mandatory.
- Certification in Six Sigma is preferred.
Experience
Applicants should have between 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing excellence roles.
Location
The role is based in Ranjangaon, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Stakeholders
- Internal: Plant Manager, Senior Manufacturing Manager, Plant Management Team, Regional Manufacturing Head, General Manager of Manufacturing Excellence, Manufacturing Excellence teams including Engineering Operations and other plants.
- External: Consultants, TPM clubs, Quality Circles, and other related groups.
