The Den is a millennial luxury hotel situated in Bengaluru’s Whitefield central business district, spanning 25 floors with 226 rooms on a 2.8-acre site. As the first global branch of the reputable Israeli Dan Hotels chain, it offers a variety of experiences including multi-cuisine and rooftop dining, a cocktail bar, deli, juice bar, club lounge, spa, wellness center, and gym, blending modern luxury with comfort for diverse travelers.
Role Overview
The Purchase Manager role involves full-time, on-site responsibility for managing all procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of high-quality goods and services for hotel operations. This includes handling vendor relationships, contract negotiations, inventory monitoring, and forecasting across departments such as Food & Beverage, housekeeping, and engineering while maintaining compliance with hotel policies and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement processes ensuring timely and economical sourcing aligned with operational needs.
- Manage vendor partnerships and conduct contract negotiations to optimize terms and pricing.
- Analyze market conditions and material pricing to inform purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate purchase records and ensure adherence to relevant policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to forecast requirements and streamline procurement workflows.
- Implement cost-control strategies while upholding service quality standards.
Qualification and Skills
- Proven expertise in procurement, vendor management, sourcing, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Experience in inventory control, demand forecasting, and purchasing preferably within hospitality or similar sectors.
- Competence with procurement software or ERP systems and MS Office for data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of supply chain management, cost optimization strategies, and basic financial principles related to purchasing.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical, problem-solving aptitude coupled with attention to detail and sound decision-making capabilities.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic hotel environment managing multiple priorities on-site.
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or related domain; postgraduate or professional certifications in procurement are advantageous.
- Previous experience as a Purchase Manager or similar procurement role in the hospitality industry is preferred.
