To adapt to a rapidly evolving landscape, the Public Service seeks leaders from diverse backgrounds to bring varied strengths and perspectives. By embarking on a public service leadership career, you will receive comprehensive development aimed at equipping you for effective leadership in the Public Service both now and into the future. A core feature of this career is the chance to undertake structured rotations across various public agencies, providing vital job experiences and exposure to key governmental challenges.

For new graduates or professionals with 1-3 years of experience, a structured developmental program called the Public Service Leadership Programme (PSLP) General Phase is available. This program offers exposure to key Public Service functions—policy, operations, and stakeholder management—and includes at least two sector placements to help identify long-term career goals.

For those with more extensive professional backgrounds, the Mid-Career Leadership Track (MCLT) offers a central entry point for leadership programs aimed at seasoned professionals aspiring to leadership roles in the Public Service.

Mid-Career Leadership Track (MCLT)

  • Serves as a central application pathway for mid-career professionals to join leadership development programs within the Public Service.
  • Applicants may be considered for either the PSLP Sectoral Phase or the Administrative Service, with placements reflecting their previous experience and readiness.
  • The Administrative Service focuses on cultivating leaders with broad, multi-sector perspectives to drive impactful policy formulation and execution.
  • The PSLP Sectoral Phase targets developing sector-specific leaders through rotations and competency building within a sector.
