Job description
Role Overview
The Public Art Project Officer is responsible for overseeing public art initiatives from initial concept to completion. This includes managing artist commissions, drafting contracts, coordinating project schedules, and collaborating with artists, contractors, and council teams to ensure consistent progress.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties involve contributing to public art strategies city-wide, reviewing art proposals, supporting promotional efforts, and advising on the upkeep of council artworks. The position operates within the City Living directorate and supports major public art projects aligned with Council’s Transformational Projects and Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant projects.
Work Environment
You will work closely with the Coordinator of Cultural Planning and Public Art to develop public spaces that embody the identity and cultural diversity of Blacktown. The role demands managing various projects at once, with strong attention to detail and exceptional customer service for artists, contractors, community members, and stakeholders.
Additional Information
