Role overview
The Public Area Houseperson supports housekeeping operations in the event centre by keeping shared spaces clean, orderly, and welcoming. This role helps create a positive impression for guests and coworkers by handling assigned cleaning duties professionally, courteously, and with attention to service needs as they come up.
Working across public spaces, washrooms, staff areas, administrative offices, and other assigned locations, the position helps maintain the venue’s cleanliness and presentation in line with safety standards, internal policies, procedures, and quality expectations. Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is a busy, energetic environment on the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and this role is suited to someone who enjoys fast-paced work and contributing to a collaborative team.
What the job involves
- Carry out housekeeping tasks in the event centre and surrounding assigned spaces.
- Keep public areas, restrooms, employee areas, administrative offices, and other designated locations clean and well maintained.
- Represent the venue positively through courteous interactions with guests and employees.
- Respond appropriately to routine issues and special cleaning requests.
- Follow all safety practices, policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Experience and qualifications
- A high school diploma or an equivalent work-related background is required.
- At least 2 years of cleaning experience is preferred.
- Experience with carpet cleaning and window cleaning is considered an advantage.
Skills and working conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs may be required.
- Comfort with repetitive movement and physically active work is important.
- Must be able to handle a busy, high-volume environment with shifting priorities.
- Should be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and personal accountability are essential.
- Availability for rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
- WHMIS knowledge and biohazard cleanup experience are assets.
