About the Role
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is hiring a Public Area Houseperson to help keep hotel and resort spaces clean, presentable, and welcoming. The role supports the hotel’s image by maintaining a professional, courteous presence for guests and team members while handling assigned housekeeping duties in a busy, fast-moving environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, at a resort and casino located on the Tsuut’ina First Nation. The workplace is described as energetic, dynamic, and high-volume, with opportunities to build a career in a diverse team setting.
Key Duties
- Clean and maintain public spaces, guest restrooms, employee areas, administrative offices, and other assigned areas.
- Follow hotel safety rules, policies, and procedures while completing housekeeping tasks.
- Maintain a friendly, pleasant, and professional manner when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Respond appropriately to issues or special requests as they come up.
- Support the hotel in meeting its standards for cleanliness and quality.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or an equivalent work-related background is required.
- At least 2 years of cleaning experience is preferred.
- Experience with carpet cleaning and window cleaning would be considered an advantage.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Comfort working in a physically demanding, busy, and fast-paced setting.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stay organized.
- Strong teamwork skills, along with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Good attention to detail and a dependable, accountable approach.
- Availability for rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- WHMIS knowledge and biohazard cleanup experience are beneficial.
