Role overview
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is hiring a Public Area Houseperson for its event centre in Calgary, Alberta. The position supports a busy, energetic environment and contributes to the overall guest experience by keeping shared spaces clean, presentable, and safe. The role also involves responding politely and professionally to guest questions or special requests while upholding the standards expected by the property.
Key duties
This position focuses on housekeeping work across public-facing and back-of-house areas in the event centre. The successful candidate will maintain restrooms, employee spaces, administrative offices, and other assigned locations, while following established safety practices, policies, and procedures. The role is expected to help preserve a positive image of the venue for both visitors and staff.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or an equivalent work-based qualification is required. Prior cleaning experience of at least 2 years is preferred. Experience with carpet cleaning and window cleaning would be considered an advantage.
Skills and working conditions
The job can involve lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive physical movements. Applicants should be comfortable working in a busy, high-pressure setting with multiple tasks at once. The role requires the ability to perform well both as part of a team and independently, while staying attentive to detail and taking responsibility for assigned work. Shift availability is essential, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Experience with WHMIS and biohazard cleanup is an added advantage.
