Overview

Join the Wagga Wagga City Council to help shape the future of the region by managing key property acquisitions and disposals that support vital infrastructure projects and community growth. Working within a committed Property Team under the Economy, Business & Workforce Directorate, you will oversee a variety of property transactions instrumental to the city's development initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Council’s land acquisition, disposal, and compulsory acquisition processes necessary for major infrastructure delivery.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of property transactions from initial planning through to settlement.
  • Oversee road closure procedures and review related legal documentation.
  • Liaise with external professionals including surveyors, valuers, solicitors, real estate agents, and government bodies.
  • Engage and negotiate proactively with landowners and stakeholders during acquisition phases.
  • Support strategic property planning, policy formulation, and continuous workflow enhancements.
  • Assist in managing Council’s property registers and Crown Land affairs.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Qualifications in property-related fields such as law, land economy, or valuation.
  • Relevant experience in property management, legal frameworks, or valuation sectors.
  • Understanding of local government property legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship management capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational aptitude to juggle multiple projects under pressure.
  • A proactive mindset with emphasis on exceptional customer service delivery.

Employment Details and Benefits

  • Permanent full-time role requiring 35 hours per week on-site in Mount Austin, NSW.
  • Starting remuneration approximately $3897 gross per fortnight, with potential progression to $4676 gross per fortnight plus 12% superannuation.
