Role Overview
As Duty Airport Manager based at London Heathrow, you will oversee daily airport operations at one of Qantas’ key international gateways. You will lead teams and manage complex operational challenges to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused international flight services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead airport operations to maintain safety, customer satisfaction, on-time performance, and financial targets.
- Provide leadership and development for frontline teams, including after-hours operational accountability.
- Manage operational disruptions effectively in a 24/7 airport environment with shift work and weekend/public holiday duties.
- Engage with various stakeholders including airport authorities, government bodies, security agencies, and airline partners to ensure operational excellence.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in operational management in aviation or similarly complex, safety-critical fields.
- Strong leadership capabilities including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Customer-centric approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills capable of delivering results under time pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
- Ability to meet operational and commercial KPIs consistently.
